Wild Islands Wealth and Economy
Wild Islanders are exceptionally wealthy and yet completely useless with economics. The main source of trade is Mithral and Living Steel, both of which are highly sought after and very expensive. The Islands themselves have abundant gold resources as well. Wild Islanders have trouble understanding the worth of things, and will often throw gold away on things that hold their interest without considering if they could have bargained. Similarly they have trouble understanding that they may not be able to pay for things they need if they don’t have gold. Food and drink, especially new varieties are held in higher value than items for farming and steel, which they have little to no need for. As far as exports go, Wild Islanders sell Mithral and Living Steel but with such extreme reluctance that it infuriates many of their trading partners. This has led to many of their neighbouring nations employing privateers on occasion to try to obtain the materials in other ways. The strength of the Navy and the curious geographical conditions mean that this almost always results in death for the interlopers.
